Where Curiosity Meets Craft

It started with a moment of wonder. In 2025, I wandered into a goat milk soap-making demonstration — and something clicked. I can do that. What followed was a journey of trial, discovery, and genuine passion: learning the chemistry behind saponification, mastering the cold process method passed down through generations, and uncovering the remarkable things that happen when quality natural ingredients meet careful, intentional craft.

That spark became Steffi's Soaps — a small-batch soap studio rooted in the belief that what you put on your skin matters just as much as what you put in your body.

The Dragonfly

There's a beautiful belief that dragonflies carry the spirits of our loved ones — that when one appears, it's someone dear checking in to say they're still near. I lost my mother when my own children were young, and that idea has brought me more comfort than I can say. She's woven into everything I do, including this. When you see the dragonfly on a Steffi's Soaps bar, know that it carries a little love with it.

The Cold Process Difference

I use the cold process method — one of the oldest and most respected techniques in soap making. Unlike commercially manufactured bars, cold process soap retains the full glycerin naturally produced during saponification. Glycerin is a humectant that draws moisture to the skin, and it's routinely removed from mass-market soap and sold separately to the cosmetics industry. In every bar we make, it stays right where it belongs.

Cold process soap also allows me to work with a thoughtfully chosen blend of skin-loving butters and oils — ingredients selected not for shelf life or cost efficiency, but for what they actually do for your skin.

Small Batches. Real Ingredients.

Every bar of Steffi's Soaps is handcrafted in small batches, which means I can give each pour the attention it deserves. I use natural ingredients — nourishing butters, plant-based oils, tallow, pure essential oils, and natural colorants — with no harsh detergents or synthetic fillers. The result is a bar that lathers richly, rinses cleanly, and leaves skin feeling genuinely cared for.

These soaps are also a little bit art. The layered designs, swirls, and textures you see in each bar aren't just decorative — they're the signature of a process done entirely by hand, one batch at a time.

Why It Matters

There's a reason handmade soap has endured for centuries. It works. And when it's made with care, with real ingredients, and with an understanding of both the science and the artistry involved, it works beautifully. That's what I set out to make — and that's what is put in every bar.
